Fly or ferry? Travelers to Hawaii shuttling between Honolulu and Maui and Kauai will finally get to choose. Tickets are on sale for the Hawaii Superferry (interior shown above), a high-speed catamaran the length of a football field that will sail starting in August (no date set yet). Less London fog

You won’t be peering at your drinking buddy through a thick veil of smoke in English pubs anymore as a ban on smoking in enclosed public places -- public transport, shops, hotels, eateries and pubs -- goes into effect today. England is following the lead of Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland, which all prohibited smoking in public places earlier this year. Scofflaws will have to pay between $60 to $100 in penalties. Michigan-based Dephi Corp. now offers a car navigation system with a lifetime subscription for its traffic warning service. The Nav200 portable navigation system, about the size of a cellphone, sticks on your dashboard and plugs into a cigarette lighter. The device shows your route on a 3 1/2 -inch color screen and gives spoken directions in one of 13 languages. Larger than life

Almost 10 years after Princess Diana died in an accident in Paris, an exhibition opened Saturday at London’s Kensington Palace that pairs portraits of her by photographer Mario Testino (above) with some of the designer outfits she wore in the pictures -- part of a fashion collection she auctioned off for charity before her death on Aug. 31, 1997. “Diana: A Princess Remembered” includes other photographs and TV images.
