Ex-officer charged in off-duty attack at bar
A former Anaheim police officer who allegedly attacked a woman outside a bar was charged Monday with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Peter Henry Castro, 26, was kicked out of the Slide bar in Fullerton at 1:45 a.m. on June 19 after arguing with a manager and doorman, prosecutors said. He was off duty at the time.
In the parking lot, he allegedly approached two women seated in a car and began tugging the driver’s seat belt through an open window.
When she got out of the car, Castro allegedly grabbed her, pulled her hair and repeatedly punched her. Onlookers held him down until police arrived.
Castro could face six months in jail if convicted.
