Warner to market artists as brands

Warner Music Group Corp. forged a venture with talent agency Violator Management to pitch artists as brands for corporate sponsorships and merchandise sales.
The enterprise, called Brand Asset Group, will be headed by Chris Lighty, Violator’s founder and chief executive, Warner Music said. Lighty’s company represents rap artists such as 50 Cent and Diddy.
