Police shoot man who allegedly wielded knife

Police shot a man who allegedly attacked them with a knife as they responded to a report of a family dispute Friday afternoon in Sylmar.
The man, in his 20s, was shot twice in the chest, police said. He was hospitalized in critical but stable condition. None of the officers was injured.
Police declined to release the man’s name pending completion of an investigation. The shooting occurred in the 13300 block of Hubbard Street.
