Barbers, music store targeted
Two bombs targeting barbershops and a music store exploded in northwestern Pakistan, where Islamic militants have warned against shaving beards and selling music, a security official said.
The bombs struck Inayat Kalay, a market town in the Bajur tribal region, said Muwaz Khan, a government security official in the region. There were no casualties.
Last month, pamphlets were found in Inayat Kalay threatening harm against barbers who shave their customers’ beards, an act extremists consider an offense against Islam. Similar threats have been made against music shops.
