1 killed in car-to-car gunfight, collisions
A man died late Thursday of wounds suffered earlier in the day in a car-to-car gunfight that led to a five-vehicle crash in the Pacoima area, authorities said.
The victim, described as about 25 years old, was struck by shots to his abdomen, chest, arms and legs, police said. No one else was in his car.
The victim apparently fired back at the other vehicle, but no one else is known to have been hurt, including anyone in the other vehicles.
At least two suspects fled the scene and were being sought by police.
The shooting was reported at 4:45 p.m. on Paxton Street near Foothill Boulevard. Martha Garcia, a Los Angeles police spokesman, said two cars collided during the gunfight and then crashed into the three other vehicles.
