The lowdown on the lowest airfares
A new fave website among Travel section staffers is
AirfareWatchdog.com, which keeps track of low airfares to hundreds of cities worldwide. People are behind the research -- not just computers -- the company says, so you’ll get the scoop on hidden sales.
What’s hot: Lots of stuff, including the top 50 low fares, e-mailed news alerts for your favorite departure city, a fare blog. You’ll also find Southwest fares and low-fare lists from smaller local airports such as Long Beach.
What’s not: If you want to buy, you’ll be linked to other sites. And you can research city pairs through BookingBuddy.com, an airfare aggregator.
