A Bohemia that’s authentic
No wonder New Yorkers and Europeans criticize Los Angeles for its lack of authenticity [“A Sunny Start to Your Day,” May 3.]. With writers like S. Irene Virbila in her Critic’s Notebook review of Hans Rockenwagner’s new Venice cafe, praising the “chance to play Venice bohemians for a morning or a night,” this is to be expected.
Get real, Irene! As a long-time resident of Ocean Park, the Venice adjacent neighborhood, this is the way we live and it’s not an act.
