The television world without George Lopez

GEORGE LOPEZ is not the only one upset [“George Lopez Lashes Out at ABC,” by Maria Elena Fernandez, May 15]! This is truly outrageous!

[ABC executive Stephen] McPherson has demonstrated genuine “caveman” qualities: disrespectful, dishonest, unappreciative and a super tonto baboso! I am so upset that an intelligent, sensitive and creative comedy show that reflected my reality is now biting the dust.

HERE is my message to George Lopez: Stop encouraging the racial divide, have pride and be happy that your show lasted five years, far longer than most.

If, in these frantic times of political correctness and hyper-sensitivity to race, a trailblazing Latino-led series is canceled by a major network, it’s not about where you’re from, it’s the diminishing profit margin. People were no longer that interested in your show.
