Sports agent Scott Boras persuaded pitcher Jeff Weaver to turn down a lucrative two-year contract with the World Series champion Cardinals in favor of a one-year deal with the Seattle Mariners.

Let’s be honest. If Boras had been Secretary of State in 1867 instead of William Seward, Alaska would still belong to Russia.
