A WATERSHED MOMENT
Re the “First Look” at the West Hollywood restaurant Comme Ca [by S. Irene Virbila, Nov. 1]:
I gather from the tenor of your story that you find Comme Ca’s $5-per-person water charge to be acceptable. I find it sufficient reason to never consider trying the restaurant.
How about a corkage charge if one brings a canteen? How about a discount if one asks for a nonwashable paper plate and disposable tableware? How about going to the restaurant, ordering no food, and bringing one’s laundry to use up the $5 worth of water?
I’m surprised that you do not characterize this policy as the rip-off that it is.
