Springsteen player drops out of tour
One of the original members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, keyboardist Danny Federici, has dropped out of the group’s current U.S. tour to undergo treatment for skin cancer.
“Danny is one of the pillars of our sound and has played beside me as a great friend for more than 40 years,” Springsteen wrote in a posting on www.brucespringsteen.net. “We all eagerly await his healthy and speedy return.”
Filling in for Federici until he can return will be Charles Giordano, who was a member of the Sessions Band that backed Springsteen in 2005 and 2006.
