FCC plan puts democracy at risk
Media consolidation is one of the most serious threats to democracy, if not the most serious threat. (“Bad reviews pile up for FCC chief’s plan,” Nov. 19.) If media outlets are controlled by a few corporations, all of which owe their access and allegiance to the government, then we have just become the new Soviet Union.
