AT&T; gets patent verdict reversal
From Times Wire Services
AT&T; Inc. won the reversal of a $156.3-million jury verdict it lost last month to TGIP Inc. in a patent dispute over prepaid calling cards.
U.S. District Judge Ron Clark in Beaumont, Texas, threw out the verdict, saying the panel erred in finding San Antonio-based AT&T; had violated two TGIP patents.
TGIP, a Dallas-based patent-licensing company, sued in March 2006 over technology that enables callers to buy phone time and add money to cards bought in stores.
