Re “Law dean is rehired as furor goes on,” Sept. 18

Bravo to UC Irvine Chancellor Michael V. Drake and Duke law professor Erwin Chemerinsky for working out their differences. They demonstrate that honest people who actually communicate have a good chance of solving problems and coming to better conclusions.

It would be a shame if the UCI faculty group can’t validate the good faith of Drake and Chemerinsky. Further -- now I’m dreaming -- is it possible that our leaders in Washington could learn something from these two gentlemen?
