Wagner beats rain, shoots 69 to lead Houston Open
Johnson Wagner shot a three-under-par 69 Friday to take a three-stroke lead during the suspended second round of the Houston Open at Humble, Texas.
Wagner finished before an afternoon storm delayed play for 1 hour 45 minutes. More rain came later and the round was suspended at 7:25 p.m. with 36 players on the course.
Wagner was safely in at 12 under, three ahead of Charley Hoffman (70) and Mathew Goggin (64). Chad Campbell was seven under after matching Goggin’s 64 in the morning.
Defending champion Adam Scott, who shared the first-round lead with Wagner after an opening 63, had five bogeys and a double bogey in a 76 that left him five under.
