Bravo Bingham

RE Scott Gold’s piece on singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham [“Raw and Genuine,” March 30]: When I saw Bingham on a Cayamo cruise, I was riveted. I have never seen such an original since I saw Joe Ely play Soap Creek Saloon in 1978 for two bucks. No self-respecting Texan would think anything but that this is the real thing. He’s as original and good a songwriter as has come along in a long time. Tell him to come back to Austin -- he got rained out at SXSW and a bunch of us were bummed!
