Who can afford Big Spender?
Am I the only one who finds the Big Spender column in the Friday Business section to be irrelevant? (“Big Spender: Gourmet picnic,” March 28.)
In this time of economic challenges -- high gas prices, low consumer savings rates, excessive borrowing on the part of consumers, increased home foreclosures -- should you be encouraging your readers to spend $3,500 on a bottle of wine or $120 for a Spanish ham?
Perhaps there should be a weekly column called Dollars and Sense. You could cover ways to stretch a dollar further.
