3 students die in fire near campus
From Times Wire Reports
A smoky house fire in Menomonie near a University of Wisconsin campus killed three students after neighbors said they heard alarms and called for help about 3:30 a.m. Rescuers found two women and a man in second-floor bedrooms near the University of Wisconsin-Stout. They were pronounced dead at a hospital.
“It’s a tragedy that no campus prepares for,” Chancellor Charles Sorensen said. “We’ll grieve in this together.”
