TiVo wins ruling in Dish dispute
A federal appeals court said it wouldn’t reconsider a ruling favoring TiVo Inc. in its patent dispute with satellite TV provider Dish Network Corp.
The decision puts TiVo closer to receiving the $94 million a lower court awarded the Alviso, Calif.-based digital video recorder maker for Dish Network’s patent infringement.
In January, a U.S. Court of Appeals agreed with a lower court that DVRs distributed by Dish, formerly EchoStar Communications Corp., violated software parts of TiVo’s patent.
Dish said it would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
