Deputies’ pension case to be moved
The legal battle over Orange County sheriff’s deputies’ pensions may be headed north.
A Superior Court judge said Friday he planned to grant a motion to move the case to Los Angeles County, after Orange County’s pension fund and the deputy’s union argued that the case presented too many conflicts to be tried locally.
The county has sued the pension board seeking to reduce deputies’ pensions that were granted under a 2001 labor agreement.
Judge Thierry P. Colaw said he would issue a final written ruling in coming days.
