San Francisco 3, at St. Louis 0: The Cardinals are probably glad they’ve seen the last of Tim Lincecum in 2008. Lincecum pitched seven crisp innings and beat them for the second time in a week. The teams conclude their three-game series today, which is their last scheduled meeting this season. Lincecum (3-0) gave up six hits and struck out five.

at Chicago 13, Pittsburgh 1: Derrek Lee’s first-inning two-run homer got the Cubs started. Daryle Ward, who came into the game in the sixth because Lee had a stiff neck, homered for his first hit of the season and the Cubs beat the Pirates for the eighth time in a row -- five this season.

Milwaukee 5, at Cincinnati 3 (10 innings): Bill Hall hit a two-out, two-run double in the 10th inning that improved the Brewers’ record to 4-0 in extra-inning games this season.

at Florida 6, Washington 5: Wes Helms singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. His one-out grounder up the middle scored Dan Uggla from second.

Colorado 3, at Houston 2: Brad Hawpe singled in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning and the Rockies (9-8) went over the .500 mark for the first time this season.

at Arizona 10, San Diego 3: Chris Young singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, and the Diamondbacks broke the game open with six runs in the eighth inning. Arizona improved to a major league-best 13-4, the best start in its 11-year history.

New York 4, at Philadelphia 2: The Mets beat the Phillies for the fourth consecutive time. They had lost nine in a row over two seasons against the Phillies before their current streak.

at Atlanta 4, Dodgers 1: Chad Billingsley matched his career high with nine strikeouts and breezed through the first four innings but gave up four runs in the fifth.
