Pants. A party. Can you resist?

It might just be the best deal in town: Grab chic new trousers at Goodwill prices while supporting L.A.’s next generation of fashion talent at the $5 Jeans/Pants Party, happening at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising’s Scholarship Store.

The event runs until everything -- more than 700 pairs of pants and jeans, all priced at $5 -- sells out. Merchandise was donated by local fashion manufacturers, so expect a hodgepodge of styles and sizes (companies send whatever they have left from shipments; some have labels, some don’t). Pants Party aside, the store is a hidden treasure open year-round, selling goods donated by the industry at recession-proof prices, including $2 belts, $4 tops and $12 jackets.
