Firefighter dies at Toronto blaze
A firefighter was killed and a worker missing after explosions at a Toronto propane facility forced thousands of people to evacuate, Toronto police spokesman Mark Pugash said. Some residents suffered minor injuries. Witnesses described the sky lighting up in the glow of an enormous fireball.
Ontario Minister of Community Safety Rick Bartolucci said the fire at the Sunrise Propane Industrial Gases facility was burning Sunday evening, but was under control. The cause was under investigation.
The explosions also shut down Canada’s busiest highway and a section of Toronto’s subway system.
