BIG 12 REPORT

* at No. 4 Oklahoma 57, Chattanooga 2: Sam Bradford threw for 183 yards and two touchdown passes, Chris Brown ran for three scores and only an hourlong rainstorm could slow down the Sooners at Norman. They converted their first seven possessions into touchdowns and led 50-0 before a thunderstorm caused a lightning delay that extended halftime by more than an hour.

* at No. 11 Texas 52, Florida Atlantic 10: Colt McCoy passed for three touchdowns, ran for another and the Longhorns coasted in a game at Austin that got testy at times when the Owls popped McCoy for three late hits. McCoy completed 24 of 29 passes for 222 yards and also had 103 rushing yards in 12 carries.

* at No. 12 Texas Tech 49, Eastern Washington 24: Graham Harrell threw for 536 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for another score at Lubbock. He connected with eight receivers, but it was a quiet night for Michael Crabtree, the nation’s leading receiver in 2007. The All-American finished with 73 yards in nine catches, one a four-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

* at No. 14 Kansas 40, Florida International 10: Todd Reesing threw three touchdown passes to Dezmon Briscoe in the Jayhawks’ easy victory at Lawrence. Reesing completed 37 of 52 passes for 256 yards. The Golden Panthers, 1-11 last season, were playing the highest-ranked team they have seen since becoming a major-college program in 2006.

* Arkansas State 18, at Texas A&M; 14: Reggie Arnold ran for 145 yards and the Red Wolves ruined Mike Sherman’s debut as the Aggies’ coach with a stunning victory at College Station. The Red Wolves won for the first time in 15 games against a Big 12 opponent and ended A&M;’s 20-game winning streak in home openers.

* at Kansas State 45, North Texas 6: Josh Freeman threw two of his three touchdown passes to Brandon Banks and ran for two more scores, helping the Wildcats to an easy victory at Manhattan. Kansas State overpowered North Texas on both sides of the ball, scoring on six of its first seven possessions to take a 42-0 lead.

* at Nebraska 47, Western Michigan 24: Joe Ganz threw four touchdown passes at Lincoln to help Bo Pelini win in his return to the Cornhuskers, this time as head coach. Nebraska won its opener for the 23rd consecutive year, the longest streak in the nation.
