Driver pleads not guilty in death
A Swedish hip-hop artist pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the murder of a jazz pianist in what police describe as a road rage incident.
David Moses Jassy, 34, is accused of killing John Osnes, 55, in a Hollywood crosswalk last month. Osnes, 55, was walking across the intersection when an SUV driven by Jassy edged into his path, authorities said. After Osnes struck the vehicle, Jassy punched and kicked him and drove over him, authorities said.
Jassy remains in custody on $1-million bail. His attorney, Donald Etra, said after the Superior Court arraignment that his client “recognizes the seriousness of the offense” and will offer “a vigorous defense.”
