Re “Hollywood Loves a Good Success Story,” by Rachel Abramowitz, Dec. 23: Either acting is not a “complex cognitive skill,” or it does not necessarily require 10,000 hours to master such a skill, if you consider that Anna Paquin won the Oscar for best supporting actress in “The Piano” at age 11 and Tatum O’Neal won the same award for “Paper Moon” at age 10.
