MOVING SPEECH
Iraq war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder are all over the news, but vets with the syndrome talking about it onstage are a much rarer breed. Choreographer Victoria Marks (pictured with Aaron McCollum) ran workshops with a group of artists and PTSD-inflicted veterans to create “Action Conversations,” a theater piece that combines movement with scripted and improvised dialogue. “Our job is to support the veterans, to tell their stories with them, to make a place for them within the fabric of our larger L.A. community,” Marks says. 8:30 p.m. Fri. and Sat., Highways Performance Space, 1651 18th St., Santa Monica. $20.
