Bowl hosts stars in ‘Les Miz’
Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (“Kiss Me, Kate”) and Emmy winner Rosie O’Donnell will join forces at the Hollywood Bowl this summer for three performances of “Les Miserables in Concert,” the Bowl’s latest nod to Broadway.
Mitchell, who also starred on Broadway in “Ragtime” and the 2002 revival of “Man of La Mancha,” will play the role of Javert. Former TV talk show diva O’Donnell, who has appeared on Broadway in “Grease,” “Seussical” and “Fiddler on the Roof,” will portray Madame Thenardier.
The cast of the show, to be presented Aug. 8-10, will also include J. Mark McVey as Valjean, a role he has played on Broadway and in London’s West End; Melora Hardin (TV’s “The Office”); Lea Michele (“Spring Awakening”); and Aaron Lazar, who, like Michele, is a veteran “Les Miz” cast member.
