On the wrong track
On Dec. 30 you listed the famous athletes who passed away during 2007. When it came to athletes like Parry O’Brien, John Woodruff, Al Oerter and Willye White you listed them as “Olympics.” They were all great “track and field” athletes and should have been listed as such.
The great sport of track and field occurs every year -- not only in an Olympics year. Track and field is a great sport and deserves to be covered and reported in more detail more than only once every four years, which unfortunately has been the case with track coverage by the L.A. Times for at least the last decade.
