Cubs keep rolling over Brewers, 7-2
From the Associated Press
MILWAUKEE -- Ryan Dempster pitched seven superb innings, Ryan Theriot tripled to break open a close game and the Chicago Cubs once again beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-2, on Wednesday night.
The Cubs will try for a four-game sweep today.
After arriving at Miller Park this week with a tenuous one-game edge over Milwaukee in the National League Central division, Chicago now leads the Brewers and St. Louis by four games.
Dempster (12-4) struck out nine and gave up one run and five hits. He won consecutive road starts in the same season for the first time since 2001. The All-Star warmed up for the eighth but was pulled to get an ovation from the large Cubs contingent at Milwaukee.
The Brewers have lost a season-high four straight at home.
