Re “Living too large,” editorial, June 4

You write of Rep. Linda Richardson (D-Long Beach): “She is a politician who overextended herself to meet her campaign goals and believed there would be no political consequences.”

Given our nation’s enormous debt and chronic deficit, people just like her have been running Congress for years.

Shouldn’t we be proud that a representative is so, well, representative?
