D-day date
June 6 marked the 64th anniversary of the day that turned the tide of World War II. I searched your edition for some recognition of that fateful day and could find no reference to it.
Although I was not involved in the invasion, a short time later I entered France via Omaha Beach, and the first thing I saw was the improvised cemetery on top of the bluffs, marked by thousands of bright white crosses.
That vision has remained with me for 64 years.
It disappoints me that The Times failed to remind me of this day.
