Pouring cold water on warming
Re “The future gets real,” editorial, June 26
Here is one conservative who still doubts that humans contribute to supposed global warming. Global warming is more hysteria than science.
Mary Nichols, the chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board, should check herself into the funny farm if she thinks these new climate-change regulations will help the state’s economy.
There is nothing preventing anyone from doing the things now that she thinks will increase income, so why isn’t it happening? Maybe all the entrepreneurial brainpower in California doesn’t know something she does.
In any event, the investment she foresees in response to the regulations is money spent to fix a problem that may not even exist. I suggest Nichols acquaint herself with the fallacy of the broken window -- fixing a broken window is good for the window fixer, or in this case the lawyers and regulators, but bad for everyone else.
