Fair and balanced and bitter

I think it’s highly laughable and so ironic that Fox anchor Brit Hume wants to go into semi-retirement because he is tired of all the “bitter politics” [“Hume Tired of ‘Bitter’ Politics,” by Matea Gold, Oct. 28].

Fox News knows no other way of delivering their “faux news” than with “bitter politics.”

Goodbye, Hume. You won’t be missed.

As one of the Founding Fathers of what you might call postmodern “Bitter Politics,” Brit Hume has a lot of nerve to complain of being weary. You reap what you sow, Brit.

And, anyway, I’m pretty sure what you really meant to say was that bitter politics isn’t nearly so much fun when you’re on the losing side.
