3 men held in slaying at party
A man was shot in the head and killed after getting into an argument at a party in the Westlake area early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The victim was at a party near Catalina Street and James M. Wood Boulevard when he was shot about 4 a.m., said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman. The victim was identified as Jose Enriquez Mendez, 28, of Los Angeles. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Three suspects were later detained for questioning, police said.
