Freed journalist alleges abuse

An Afghan journalist detained for 11 months at the U.S. military base at Bagram alleged that he was kicked, forced to stand barefoot in the snow and kept awake for days.
Jawed Ahmad, who was working for Canada’s CTV, denied accusations that he supplied weapons or intelligence to the Taliban. He said his contacts with them were part of his job as a journalist.
