MORNING BRIEFING

How refreshing to see Helene Elliott [April 9] finally put in print what Kings fans have said for years about the arrogance and incompetence that define Philip Anschutz’s failed ownership of the Kings. Do you really think local owners McCourt, Moreno, Buss or even Sterling would view ignoring the media for the past 12 years as part of a viable marketing plan?

Sadly, it is apparent by his lack of words and deeds that the only value Anschutz assigns to the Kings is as a glorified tax write-off. If Elliott is off base in any of her public assertions and somehow we have Anschutz pegged all wrong after 15 years of inaction and seclusion, I expect to read his comments next week setting us all straight. Otherwise . . . .
