Colon sharp in White Sox return
CHICAGO -- — Bartolo Colon pitched six strong innings and Carlos Quentin homered, leading the Chicago White Sox to an 8-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
Colon, who signed a one-year, $1-million contract in the off-season after making seven starts for Boston in 2008, gave up three hits with two walks and two strikeouts, helping the White Sox end a three-game skid.
Colon (1-0) is back with Chicago after going 15-13 in 2003 with a 3.87 earned-run average. He went on to win the 2005 AL Cy Young Award with the Angels, but this was only his 37th start since then because of injuries.
