Reds defeat the Brewers

Cincinnati 6, at Milwaukee 1: Bronson Arroyo held the Brewers to four hits in six-plus innings and Jerry Hairston Jr. hit a two-run homer for the Reds.

at Arizona 7, St. Louis 6 (10): Eric Byrnes had a two-out RBI single in the 10th inning to give Arizona the win. Cardinals starter Chris Carpenter got hurt when he was batting in the fourth inning and left the game because of a strained rib cage.
