‘Anvil! The Story of Anvil’

The unlikely documentary hit of the season is doing so well that after its closing tonight at the Nuart, it’s getting a screen of its own in the posh Landmark complex in West Los Angeles. Heavy metal music may not be everyone’s cup of noise, but that hasn’t stopped people from enjoying the heck out of this film. Think of it as a real-life version of the mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” and you’ll get part of the idea. For this is also the most heartwarming film ever made about metal music and if that sounds like a contradiction, “Anvil!” will make a believer out of you.
