Soccer deaths: A photo caption with a sports story Thursday about fan deaths in 1989 at an English soccer game mistakenly attributed the 96 deaths to the collapse of a crowd control barrier. An official report attributed the disaster to failures by the police in crowd control, not to a barrier collapse.
