Re “After the Fall,” by Matea Gold, Jan. 28: Ted Haggard’s most recent stumble (he already “fell”) simply illustrates what most already know: You cannot “pray away gay.” You are born with your orientation and nothing can change that.
Ted calling himself a “heterosexual with issues” is just code for a “self-hating gay man afraid to come out.” The sooner his congregation, his family and, most important, Ted himself accepts this, the more fulfilled a person he will be.
