Beating dead horses
If Bill Dwyre’s comment -- “Racing shot itself in the foot years ago when it got greedy and started allowing anybody to bet on anything from anywhere” [July 14] -- should not be the official inscription on North American thoroughbred horse racing’s headstone, nothing should.
The only thing it’s missing is the R.I.P. at the bottom.
