One for the books
Re “New chapter in textbooks,” Editorial, May 23, and “Gov. Arnold to state Legislature: Our wallet is empty,” Top of the Ticket blog, June 5
Remember junior high, when we sang:
“No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher’s dirty looks”?
We should have been more careful what we wished for.
But then, who could have predicted a Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger?

I would like to suggest to Schwarzenegger that for a week he have all correspondence, legislation and other documents addressed to him presented solely on his computer.
At the end of that week, it would be interesting to see how he feels about getting rid of books in schools.
