Amy Winehouse won’t perform at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival next month because of “current legal issues,” a spokesman said Monday.
Winehouse was charged with assault last week for allegedly attacking a fan at a London party in September. The British singer is due in court next week. Being charged with a crime often makes it difficult for people to get U.S. visas.
There was no immediate word from festival producers about who would step in to fill her spot on the Saturday-night bill. But organizers did announce that the Chemical Brothers, Etienne De Crecy and the Orb have been added to the long list of performers at the event, which will take place April 17 to 19.
