French fried
It’s too bad Pam Shriver and Diane Pucin can’t figure out why Serena Williams isn’t the most loved competitor at the French Open. The answer is obvious to me and many other people. Serena Williams is arrogant, and plenty of people don’t respond well to arrogance -- me included. And I’m not French.

Pam Shriver says that Serena Williams doesn’t get support from fans at the French Open.
Maybe they are upset that Serena repeatedly withdraws from tournaments, leaving ticket-holders holding the bag.
Maybe they are unhappy with Serena’s arrogance, in never crediting her opponent when she is beaten in a match.
As far as the racial issue, the fan reaction at Indian Wells was based on the behavior of the Williams sisters, not the color of their skin.
When Serena begins to show respect for tennis, she will get respect in return. Instead of playing the race card, perhaps she should get a new deck.
