Have appetite, will travel

Brad Garrett won three Emmys playing Ray Romano’s brother on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and now he’s got another juggernaut going with his Fox series “Til Death,” which begins its fourth season tonight at 8:30.

But what he really wants to talk about is dining out.

“I’m a foodie, and I go all over town,” he says. “You know what I say -- there’s no scales in heaven. I eat like I’m going to the electric chair.”

Eat and run

We love to eat in my family because, well, we’re nervous. I love Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. I go there a lot, and usually sit at the counter. I’ll try to get a table, but then Brian Grazer walks by and hip-checks me. They have these incredible little raviolis there that are sauteed in about nine pounds of butter. And then, usually, there’s a hand on my back and someone says, “Ron Howard needs to sit here,” and I leave.

Park once, eat twice

Across the street is another great place, Caffe Delfini. If you want a table, you go here. If you want to see how bad your career is going, go to Giorgio Baldi. Either place, I’ll just leave the kids in the car with a Fruit Roll-Up and the window open a crack and say, “Daddy loves you.” At Delfini, I recommend the rigatoni Gorgonzola with the sausage.

Go casual

If you want the best yogurt around, go to Malibu Yogurt. This is one of the few places in town where you can get served without wearing pants. It’s that kind of crowd in Malibu. You’re stuck in line behind Pierce Brosnan using that fake accent, and it’s an hour later before they understand him.

Eat at Brent’s

If you’re looking for some good Jew food, go to Brent’s Deli in Westlake Village. And you know my people, they start charging you as soon as you walk in. I’ve been going there for 20 years and God forbid that they should give me some free toast or something. But it’s a great place, and you’ve got to get the whitefish salad or the amazing corned beef.

Mastro’s for gnocchi

I go to Mastro’s, but not for the steaks. I’ll tell you what to do -- order the gnocchi with the crab meat. I’ll put the gnocchi there against any Italian place around.

Tip the belly dancer

I really live at Taverna Tony in Malibu. Great hummus, very fresh salads, and I love the lamb chops. They have these dips, tzatziki or tabouli, that come with the most incredible French bread. The place has a real Greek vibe. Tony comes by and asks how everything is and then leaves before you can tell him. Because he knows.
