at Jacksonville 38, Oakland 31: Bad news for Raiders is they no longer control playoff destiny. Good news is, Raiders and playoffs aren’t usually in same sentence after Week 6.

at Buffalo 13, Cleveland 6: Browns’ turnover machine Jake Delhomme has the uncanny ability to make a team miss starting a rookie quarterback. Come back Colt McCoy.

at Pittsburgh 23, Cincinnati 7: Carson Palmer hits goal for three touchdown passes but only one goes to Bengals, who are within one loss of 11-game record skid set in 1992-93.

Atlanta 31, at Carolina 10: Finally some improvement for Panthers (still owners of the top pick in the 2011 draft). They had been averaging 9.8 points per game at home!

Tampa Bay 17, at Washington 16: It took a missed extra-point try with nine seconds to go, but the Buccaneers made it 8-0 against teams with a losing record.

at Detroit 7, Green Bay 3: With Lions starting backup quarterbacks nearly entire season, experience pays off as their No. 3 outduels Packers’ No. 2. Who can name them?

at New Orleans 31, St. Louis 13: With this fine performance, the Rams hold on to first place in the NFC West and if standings remain intact would host Saints in first round.

at San Francisco 40, Seattle 21: The 49ers seem to be emerging as the class of the NFC West, moving within one game of first place. Too bad they are only 5-8 and lousy.

New England 36, at Chicago 7: As a service to their fans, the Bears fall hopelessly behind by halftime so the crowd can leave early and escape the blizzard conditions.

at Arizona 43, Denver 13: Eric Studesville can’t extend interim coach debut record to 3-0. On the bright side, at least Broncos had no dropoff after Josh McDaniels’ departure.

Miami 10, at N.Y. Jets 6: Instead of burying a football, as the Jets did after a blowout loss to the Patriots last week, Coach Rex Ryan might want to consider burying the offense.

at San Diego 31, Kansas City 0: Chiefs fans suffer sympathy abdomen pains similar to Matt Cassel’s while watching quarterback Brodie Croyle’s record as starter drop to 0-9.

Philadelphia 30, at Dallas 27: Green faces are not only smiling over this victory, but also over the fact that it guarantees the Cowboys’ first losing season since 2004.
