Momentum: It was Alabama from start to finish, with Mark Ingram scoring on a two-yard run two plays into the quarter and defensive lineman Marcell Dareus scoring on a 28-yard interception return with only a few seconds left.
Unanswered questions: What was Mack Brown thinking? With under a minute left and a true freshman quarterback struggling, the Longhorns tried a shovel pass instead of trying to run out the clock? Can the Longhorns possibly win with a true freshman quarterback?
Did you notice? Alabama nose guard Terrence Cody, who is listed at 6 feet 5 and 354 pounds, lined up in the offensive backfield and led the way for Ingram on his scoring run. Ingram isn’t the only Alabama back with speed. Trent Richardson’s 49-yard touchdown run featured him jetting away from Longhorns pursuers.
